كان الإمام تركي بن عبد الله شخصية رئيسية في تاريخ المكلا. توفي عام 1249 هـ بالرياض، بعد أن ساعد في إعادة قيام الدولة السعودية للمرة الثانية. خلفه ابنه الإمام فيصل بن تركي بعد وفاته. اشتهر الإمام تركي بن عبد الله بعلمه واجتهاده في الدراسة، كما عُرف بدوره في مؤامرة قتل ابن أخيه وابن عمه مشاري بن عبد الرحمن آل سعود. بعد وفاة الإمام تركي، أعلن مشاري الإمام الجديد. إن إرثه من المعرفة والاجتهاد هو شيء يجب على جميع الطلاب السعي إلى محاكاته.
